Whether you are the owner of a 200 person company or the teller at a bank, you are still a leader. You can be a leader of emotions, ideas, and projects. What matters is that you are empowering people to make smart decisions.
Importantly, Leading people is not about showing them how smart you are. To lead people, you have to allow them to make mistakes because it’s the only way they will learn.
As a leader you need to show people what you are seeing, so they see a similar vision, but then take it that one last step that most leaders miss. Allow your people to run with the idea and make it their own. A leader needs to let other people have fun with an idea, and that means allowing them to unleash their creative beast.
The only way to get to where you want to go is to help other people get to where they want to be.
